Playtech arm completes Coral betting shop roll-out

Gambling software innovator Playtech has announced that its Playtech BGT Sports subsidiary has installed proprietary technology on over 450 in-shop Connect tablet-based betting terminals operated by British sportsbetting and gambling giant Ladbrokes Coral Group.

Isle of Man-based Playtech declared that the introduction of its software for the operator’s Coral-branded shops will allow customers to enjoy “a seamless multi-channel experience” and is set to further improve the venues’ retail and in-play offerings thanks to “prominent positioning in front of televisions.”

“We are delighted to have supported Coral in extending its self-service estate with the roll-out of [our] software on Connect tablet-based terminals,” read a statement from John Pettit, United Kingdom, Ireland and Australia Managing Director for Playtech BGT Sport. “This is also a huge vote of confidence from such a heavyweight retail operator. Our terminals and software solutions are re-shaping the betting shop industry as bookmakers realize the benefits of digitizing the retail space both to their bottom line and their user experience.”

Playtech explained that its Playtech BGT Sport arm now provides machines and software for more than 3,000 Coral retail estate units with Connect customers able to utilize a variety of devices to cash out their retail wagers while enjoying an exclusive range of self-service betting terminal offers.

Created last year following Playtech’s acquisition of Best Gaming Technology along with the merging of some of its other businesses into one division, Playtech BGT Sports is an omni-channel sportsbetting technology supplier and additionally offers self-service betting terminals that allow partner firms the ability to integrate their own pricing feeds and liability management practices.
